FY27 Appropriations Requests

Every year, Congress is tasked with passing Appropriations bills that dictate how federal dollars are spent. Appropriations bills determine total funding levels across federal agencies, specific funding levels for programs within those agencies, and what activities are eligible for funding. Twelve funding packages will be negotiated and passed, corresponding to the 12 Appropriations Subcommittees, which can be found here.

Members of Congress can make requests to the House Appropriations Committee for specific Bill/Report Language Requests (encouraging or directing some type of agency action), Programmatic Requests (for specific funding amounts for certain agencies and programs within the bill), and for certain subcommittees, Community Project Funding requests (for specific projects that meet very limited eligibility criteria).

Please note that the deadline for submitting Community Project Funding requests to my office is Friday, March 6, 2026, at 11:59PM ET.

Please note that submission is only the first step in a highly competitive process, and each subcommittee has unique eligibility requirements and application questions. No memorials, museums, or commemoratives are eligible. All activities must have an existing federal authorization. Submission does not guarantee funding.
