Green & Gold Congressional Aide Program

The Role: Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez is hiring a veteran for a two-year paid position in our Hunts Point district office through the Green & Gold Congressional Aide Program. To qualify, veterans must meet the specific requirements of the program, which include but are not limited to: Honorable discharge, released from active duty within the last six years, and specific pay grade requirements.

The Green & Gold Congressional Aide will join our team as a Constituent Liaison and Field Representative. 

Essential Job Functions: Manage and conduct constituent casework related to the federal government; serve as a liaison with the community and local stakeholders. 

The ideal candidate:

• Is self-motivated and organized, with the ability to manage a substantial caseload while meeting the field representative duties required of this role.
• has a set of lived and professional experiences that equip them to serve the residents of New York’s 14th congressional district
• is able to work well and is calm under pressure; possesses strong oral and written communication skills;
• is able to work in collaboration with multiple departments
