Noguchi Museum Director to Attend Joint Meeting of Congress with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida as Guest of Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez
Washington, D.C. — Today, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY-14) announced that Amy Hau, Director of the Noguchi Museum in Queens, will be her guest for a joint meeting of Congress on April 11th, 2024 where Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida will discuss the diplomatic relationship between the United States and Japan.
Hau emigrated with her family from Hong Kong to Queens when she was nine years old. She joined the Noguchi Museum as Director in January of this year. Hau launched her career at the museum in 1986 as an assistant to Japanese American sculptor Isamu Noguchi, the museum’s founder. Hau has also served as vice chair of the Queens Community Board 1 since 2014 and is on the board of the Asian American Arts Alliance.
