Immigration

Our office is generally only able to assist constituents who have open immigration cases. Specifically, our office can work with federal agencies to get status updates on the following applications and cases:

  • Immigrant Visa Applications

  • Non-Immigrant Visa Applications

  • Asylum Cases

  • Employment Authorization

  • DACA and TPS Cases

  • Citizenship, naturalization and oath ceremony

  • Passport and passport renewals

Please note that due to the high demand and limited availability of appointments, in-person appointments for travelers who are seeking to rush their passports cannot be guaranteed and are limited to life-or-death emergencies, please see the Department of State’s criteria here. You can contact our office by calling 718-662-5970 or fill out this form

If you are beginning an immigration process, we recommend that you seek guidance from an immigration lawyer. New York City’s Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs offers all New Yorkers free and safe immigration legal services through ActionNYC. To make an appointment, call the ActionNYC Hotline at 800-354-0365 or call 311 and say “ActionNYC” between 9am-6pm, Monday-Friday.

At any point in your immigration process, if you don’t already have a lawyer, we recommend reaching out to ActionNYC. In particular ActionNYC will assist you with:

  • Starting new applications

  • Legal representation for immigration appeals

  • Advice about how to navigate the immigration system
