Economy
Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez is fighting to create a more just economy: one in which workers share in the profits their work creates, and corporations cannot endlessly drive up prices of critical goods like medicine and food. Last year, she helped pass the Inflation Reduction Act, which institutes a 15% minimum tax rate on wealthy corporations that have long-avoided paying any taxes at all, and caps the cost of insulin at $35 each month.
The Congresswoman is also working hard to create good jobs and support our small businesses. Her first piece of legislation, the Green New Deal, would create millions of jobs building up our nation’s infrastructure. As the daughter of a small business owner, Rep. Ocasio-Cortez also fought to protect small business owners from evictions during the pandemic.
