Healthcare
Healthcare should be a human right, not a privilege for the wealthy. For that reason, Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez proudly supports H.R.1976: Medicare for All Act of 2021, which creates a single-payer system that guarantees healthcare for all, regardless of income or employment status, while eliminating copays and premiums.
The Congresswoman also helped pass the Inflation Reduction Act into law, which allows Medicare to directly negotiate prescription drug prices; caps insulin to $35 for those with Medicare coverage; limits Medicare out-of-pocket costs to $2,000 per year; and extends government subsidies for health insurance purchased on the exchange.
