Washington, D.C. —Today, Rep. Jamie Raskin, Ranking Member of the Committee on Oversight and Accountability, and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Vice Ranking Member of the Committee on Oversight and Accountability, sent a letter to Chief Justice John Roberts demanding an explanation for his decision to replace Justice Samuel Alito as the author of the Supreme Court’s opinion in Fischer v. United States, a case involving the January 6 insurrection, just days after the public learned that he repeatedly flew flags and banners supportive of the January 6 insurrectionists while allowing him to remain on the case.

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Grace Meng (D-NY), and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) announced the House of Representatives’ passage of the Water Resources Development Act of 2024 (WRDA), which includes their provision that authorizes the Army Corps of Engineers – in working with the City of New York – to spend nearly $190 million to help combat flooding in Queens.

I rise today to introduce articles of impeachment against Associate Justices of the Supreme Court, Clarence Thomas, and Samuel Anthony Alito Jr. Against Justice Thomas the resolution includes three total articles. One count of failure to disclose financial income gifts reimbursements, property interests, liabilities, and transactions among other information and two counts of refusal to recuse from matters concerning his spouse's legal and financial interests before the court.

Washington, D.C. – This week, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY-14) and Representative Jamie Raskin (MD-08) introduced the High Court Gift Ban Act to prohibit Supreme Court justices from receiving gifts valued at more than $50, marking a significant step towards restoring faith and integrity in the embattled Roberts Court.
