BRONX, NY — Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is excited to announce that over $12 million has been secured for community projects serving New York's 14th Congressional District. The federal funding will help establish a violence prevention-focused community center in Astoria, create a youth center for Co-op City residents, improve street safety on Astoria Boulevard and Westchester Square, and more. Ivey (MD-04) sent a letter to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, asking him to establish a humanitarian parole program for Cameroon, to protect the thousands of people impacted by violence there. Glo Up is an app that collects information about users’ skin and hair types and then suggests products for purchase to address their beauty needs.

"Today is devastating for all those seeking a lasting peace and respect for human rights in Israel and Palestine. I condemn Hamas’ attack in the strongest possible terms. No child and family should ever endure this kind of violence and fear, and this violence will not solve the ongoing oppression and occupation in the region. An immediate ceasefire and de-escalation is urgently needed to save lives.”
